Safety of your personal property is your responsibility so when going to the beach please avoid taking certain personal items with you. If it is that you must carry them with you then ensure that they are well secure. Whether in your bags or your vehicles, you must ensure that your valuable items such as money, jewelry, phones, wallets and purse, etc are locked away properly.

The Montego Bay Marine Park is responsible for the maintenance of the marine environment and advises that everyone should play their part in the preservation of the environment. Solid waste is one of the major threats to the marine environment. That means, whenever you discard your waste such as plastic bottles, wrappers, etc and the rain washes it into the gullies, it leads straight to the sea and then the sea in an effort to clean itself will bring it back to shore. “Anyone going to the beach has to be responsible discarding of their waste properly,” said a representative at Marine Park. He also highlighted that anything you do on land affects the seas. He stressed that, “basically it is your responsibility to keep your environment clean and healthy.”
